The big T-day has come and gone and I could barely taste a thing. Bad cold. That’s just wrong, isn’t it?
Plus, I was trying to complete my three chapters and synopsis for the second book in the Sentinel Pass series. Dear me, you think it’s no fun eating when your sinuses are impacted, try thinking creatively with a head full of sn*t.
What’s really bad is I had the first four chapters written before I went to South Dakota, but somewhere in my travels, I realized something was wrong with the story. The fix meant starting over but not from scratch, which in some ways is easier. New opening, new motivation for my hero, better understanding of the main characters’ issues and…YEAH — it’s done!
Now, I can clean my office and catch up on my web activities, including my contest. I do apologize for not getting the photo of the prize up sooner. Monday. I promise. For today, I’m leaving you with a photo near and dear to my heart that my friend Kori just e-mailed me. It’s my mother, my daughter and my youngest granddaughter.
Kinda what Thanksgiving is all about, isn’t it?
Hope yours was lovely.
Stay healthy and keep reading!
Deb, thankful to finally be able to breath without coughing

What a precious picture, Deb! I’m still waiting for a few of the babies. Thanksgiving was a lovely day and I’m glad yours was as well. And, I’m happy you can now breathe!! Finished “Betting on Santa,” and loved the story. Now, if I just had a successful business to leave to be a photographer….take care!! Hugs, Jackie

Good picture….one that your family will treasure….
So sorry to here that you were ill during the holiday and glad that you are feeling better.
I feel fortunate that my cold went away just two days before Thanksgiving and thankful that we went to my sister-in-law for four days. I was just one of four helpers

Jackie, I tried to channel your photography skills while I was writing Tessa. I’m so glad you enjoyed the story!!! Yeah, that makes me feel good today.
Thanks, Marie. I try to remind myself that, especially when Mom is inching away from us.
I’m glad you were one of four, too, Ruby. That really does make it easier.
I forgot to share a funny. My daughter was helping my daughter-in-law with the pie crust, and when Kelly went to move the crust to the pan, Ruth said, “No, I think we should wait for a grown-up.” Kelly looked at her and said, “I am a grown-up.” Then they both cracked up laughing. A great moment I intend to steal and use in a book someday.

What a precious picture of three generations. Hope you have or get one of the four generations.
And the moment with your daughter and daughter-in-law will be something to laugh about for years to come.
