Visiting the MotherShip…and FREE books

The Harlequin home offices in Toronto, I mean.

It was brought to my attention at the last RWA conference that I have been a Harlequin author for nine years and have yet to visit the corporate offices in Canada.

Well, I’m about to change that. Dear hubby and I are headed east in early October. We’ll visit family in Detroit (look out, Franni, here we come!!!), take the scenic–hopefully fall-color drive–to Toronto, tour the corporate offices and say hi to all the people who make these books appear on store shelves, then visit Niagara Falls. The FAlls– long overdue on my must-see list and the perfect spot to celebrate an early anniversary, don’t you think?

Other news: here’s a link to an interesting site that offers FREE BOOKS. TELL It’s called TellHarlequin.com. It’s a brilliant idea, really. The all-powerful brain trust in Marketing has decided to ask the people who know and read our books what they like best and what needs improvement to meet their needs and sell more books. Works for me! I joined the fray and have already added my $.02 to one discussion. I confess, there was more than once when I growled at my monitor screen and cried, “Why aren’t you reading Superromance? We already do what you’re asking for.” Also, I don’t know how and when you get free books, but that’s part of the incentive, so why not check it out?

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I’m headed to the Mountain Sage in Groveland tomorrow SAGE to listen to some music and enjoy some delicious food prepared by my son and daughter-in-law of Blue Oak Ayurveda Blue Oak.

I’d welcome any travel tips to Canada, Niagara Falls, Toronto, etc, and will reward one poster with a book and one of my new bookmarks. I just got my copies of my September release–woo hool

Cheers!
Deb
