FINALLY FRIDAY: Love at the Chocolate Shop

Last year in July my book, SWEET SUMMER’S KISS, released.

Click on cover to purchase from the retailer of your choice.

I really loved this book, which is #10 in a 12-book series. Part of the reason this book is near and dear to my heart is because I did a lot of research. As in…eating chocolate while attempting to perfect my gourmet kisses. Failure has never tasted so delicious. Below, is my “kissless” chocolate kiss recipe.

I’m giving away copies of this recipe card at the Love at the Chocolate Shop Facebook page this month. Any comment will get you registered. I’m picking 12 winners at the end of the month. If you’re a fan of chocolate, you belong with us: LATCS FACEBOOK

Next week, I’ll be in Denver at the Romance Writers of American conference. If you’re in the area, please drop by the annual BookSigning for Literacy. It’s a wonderful way to meet authors and show your love of books, as well as support literacy programs in the Denver area.

This is me at the 2016 signing. I didn’t sign up to sign this year, but I will be there as a fan-girl.

PS: Today is Friday, the 13th! Apparently, there’s a connection between chocolate and the Friday the 13th film. #staysafeandeatchocolate

FINALLY FRIDAY: By the sea, by the beautiful sea

Although we didn’t see any fireworks on the 4th of July, the sunset alone was worth the price of admission.

I’m back from another 3-day jaunt. We dropped from 8,000′ to sea level, with a day in between in the hot zone (temps reached 100+) to collect our thoughts and re-supply. The weather on the coast was as temperate as it was in the high country, and while the drive took just as long, the roads were much better. 😉

We combed the beach at low tide and picked up a few fun sea glass treasures (note my treasured blue glass find).

We explored a bit of the coast from the Piedras Blancas light station to Morro Bay.

Don, Paul (my hubby) and Dave Salonen with Morro Rock in the background.

Along the way, we learned all sort of interesting facts from the docents at a favorite beach of elephant seals. Odd beasts. Although there was a lot of posturing from young males, the true alphas won’t arrive until mid-August.

It was a relaxing few days. There’s truly nothing quite like the ocean to lower blood pressure and infuse a sense of R&R for me. I also read this fascinating and informative book that seemed perfect for this setting.

The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness by Sy Montgomery.

Have a wonderful weekend!

BTW, I’m so happy to see such marvelous reviews for my newly released PRINCE CHARMING UNDERCOVER. It’s available at all vendors and will be in print soon. Thanks for reading!

FINALLY FRIDAY: the mountains are calling and I must go…

I believe that quote is from John Muir. Below is one of my other favorites.

I mention this because I will be at 8,000′ this weekend, escaping the heat of the Central Valley (102-3 degrees, predicted). I blew the dust off my hiking boots and truly can’t wait to hit the trails.

Does it sound like all I do is travel?

Certainly feels like it at times, but I promise, I work hard in between trips. 😉

This week I made the final edits (suggested by a member of my amazing Review Team) to PRINCE CHARMING UNDERCOVER, and uploaded to all vendors for release on Sunday! If you preorder it, the book is delivered straight to your e-reader the moment it goes live. No fuss. (I love when that happens.) Pre-order HERE.

I also finalized my new cover for THE DADDY GAMBLE, Book II in the Betting On Love series. Will share that soon. When I showed the preliminary version to my hubby, he said, “That looks like a happy book.” It is! It releases August 1.

Now, I believe I promised to share a bit about my trip to Oregon to see my sister and Andrea Bocelli. It was fabulous. The weather was gorgeous. My sister was so happy for the company. And Andrea Bocelli truly has a voice like none other. His performance was very moving, and I consider this a once in a lifetime opportunity since none of us are getting any younger.

In case you’re not signed up, my READ4LESS newsletter went out this week. If you’re a fan of western historicals and contemporary bride stories, you should check it out. Here’s the link: NEWSLETTER.

Happy reading, my friends. Stay cool and hydrated. That’s my plan. 😉
